SUSTAINABLE HOMES

In 2002

DGS Construction Ltd completed an award winning eco home which was at the forefront of sustainable housing in the UK. The company has gone on to produce several more highly energy efficient homes utilising green building techniques, renewable technologies and innovative design details".

For a home to be sustainable, it should be designed to minimise energy use, be built to a high standard and used in a way which fulfills its potential to reduce carbon emissions. As such we seek to maximise the use of insulation and minimise air leakage, and then utilise energy efficient plant and white goods.

As a former member of the AECB we actively promote the importance of the building fabric in sustainable design and we are fully conversant in Passiv Haus design principles and the Passiv Haus Planning Package (PHPP).

In 2004 DGS Construction Ltd was short listed for the Building Magazine "Specialist Contractor Sustainability Award"
